Fr. Yumo is originally from Cameroon in Central Africa. He is a diocesan priest incardinated in the Diocese of Buea, Cameroon. He was born on April 5 - the eighth child in a family of nine (five boys and four girls). He was educated in Cameroon where he obtained a degree in English Common Law (LLB Hons). in the University of Buea before proceeding to the seminary in 2005. Fr. Yumo spent ten years in the seminary studying philosophy and theology. Upon completion of his studies, he was ordained a priest on April 9, 2015, by Mgr. Immanuel Bushu, Emeritus Bishop of Buea.
After his ordination, Fr. Yumo served as Chaplain to St. Ann's High School, Campus Minister at the Catholic University Institute of Buea, Principal of Regina Pacis Comprehensive College, Mutengene, and Director of Family Life Service, Buea, within a period of four years. Fr. Yumo was asked by his Bishop to to serve in the Diocese of Charlotte in June 2019 as a Fidei Donum priest. He arrived in the Diocese of Charlotte in October 2019 and was assigned as a Parochial Vicar at St. Mark's Catholic Church, Huntersville in December 2019, where he served for over three and one-half years.
In June 2023, Fr. Yumo was appointed by Bishop Jugis as Parochial Administrator of St. Benedict the Moor Catholic, Winston-Salem and Good Shepherd Mission, King. While at St. Mark, with the help of some of his friends, Fr. Yumo started a charitable organization known as "Do It For Jesus Foundation" aimed at raising funds to assist the disadvantaged children of Cameroon who love to go to school but cannot afford the tuition to stay in school. This charity has maintained over six hundred children in school in the course of its existence.
